I hired Perla Smith for my separation/divorce litigation. Perla is kind, intelligent, attentive to detail and very thorough. Perla sees around all of the corners and will not let you put a foot wrong. Perla knew my case better than I did and has an impressive memory, and a great method for organizing information, for efficient retrieval. Perla was also my rock during times of turmoil and upheaval, and her compassionate support is a cornerstone of her practice. Perla was also very aware of issues around coercive control and abuse of process, which were important issues in my litigation that extended beyond the obvious live issues of support and equalization of assets etc. One thing that I really appreciated with Perla was that she would make herself available same day or next day for a scheduled phone call, which was essential to me being able to get all of my questions and concerns answered, so that I could maintain my peace. The call scheduling, which is not an industry standard, made sure that conversations happened in a timely manner and that calls were not missed due to receiving a counsel call during random times of unavailabiltity. She was also available by email. A great person and a great lawyer!
I had the pleasure of having Ms. Smith handle my case. Ms. Smith was professional, understanding, personable and patient with my never-ending questions. Her guidance and advice were invaluable. During phone conversations Ms. Smith would gently steer me back onto topic (I am prone to wander off on tangents and rants) all the while addressing my concerns and questions.
